About the Wheel of Time series

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is one of the defining epic-fantasy sagas — fourteen massive volumes (completed after Jordan's death by Brandon Sanderson) built on a cyclical cosmology where time turns like a wheel and the Dark One strains against his prison. When farm boy Rand al'Thor is revealed as the prophesied Dragon Reborn, the world tilts toward a final battle.

The series is renowned for its scale: hundreds of named characters, an intricate channelling-based magic system split along gender lines, and richly detailed cultures. It is a deep commitment, and a famously rewarding one for those who make it.

Start with "The Eye of the World" and read in publication order. The middle books are notorious for their slower pace; most fans agree the momentum surges once Sanderson takes over for the final three volumes.
