About Robert Jordan
Robert Jordan (1948-2007) was an American fantasy author best known for his bestselling series, "The Wheel of Time." Born James Oliver Rigney Jr., he adopted the pen name Robert Jordan after serving in the Vietnam War. Jordan's writing career began in 1984 with the publication of "Conan the Invincible," a Conan the Barbarian novel. In 1990, he released "The Eye of the World," the first book in "The Wheel of Time" series. The series became a global phenomenon, spanning 14 books and selling over 90 million copies worldwide. "The Wheel of Time" received critical acclaim for its detailed world-building, intricate plots, and complex characters. The series was honored with numerous awards, including the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1999 for "Lord of Chaos." Jordan passed away in 2007 from a rare blood disease, leaving "The Wheel of Time" unfinished. The final three books in the series were completed by Brandon Sanderson based on Jordan's notes. Despite his untimely death, Robert Jordan remains one of the most influential fantasy authors of all time.
