About Cressida Cowell
**Cressida Cowell** (born 15 April 1966) is a British children's author best known for the popular "How to Train Your Dragon" series. Born in London, Cowell studied English at Oxford University. She began writing children's books in 1998 and has since published over 30 titles. Cowell's "How to Train Your Dragon" series has been a critical and commercial success. The first book in the series won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize, and the books have been translated into over 30 languages. In 2010, the series was adapted into a successful animated film by DreamWorks Animation. Cowell has received numerous awards for her work, including the British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year Award and the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. She has also been awarded an OBE for her services to children's literature.
