About the Virgil Cole & Everett Hitch series

Robert B. Parker's Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch novels are lean, laconic Westerns from the master of hardboiled dialogue. Cole and Hitch are itinerant lawmen-for-hire — quiet, deadly professionals who ride into lawless frontier towns to impose order, the most famous of which is "Appaloosa."

Parker brings his trademark spare prose, dry wit and code-of-honour themes to the Old West, and the easy, loyal partnership between the two gunmen is the heart of the series. They're quick, stylish, satisfying reads.

The series begins with "Appaloosa"; reading in order follows Cole and Hitch across the frontier.
