About the Talisman series
Stephen King and Peter Straub's Talisman novels are a dark fantasy epic about a boy's desperate quest across worlds. In "The Talisman," twelve-year-old Jack Sawyer journeys across America — and across into a parallel medieval realm called the Territories — to find a mysterious object that can save his dying mother.
The collaboration blends King's horror sensibility and Straub's literary atmosphere into a sweeping coming-of-age adventure full of wonder and menace. It connects, like so much of King's work, to the wider Dark Tower mythology.
