About Barbara Cameron
Barbara Cameron (1925-1993) was an American writer best known for her mystery novels and non-fiction works on true crime. Born in Pennsylvania, she began her writing career as a journalist before turning to fiction. Cameron's debut novel, "Freddy's Book," was published in 1964 and featured the character of Freddy Clayton, a journalist who solves mysteries. She went on to write over 20 mystery novels, including the "Johnnie McFee" and "Jayne Wilson" series. In addition to her fiction, Cameron also authored several non-fiction books on true crime, such as "Indefensible" (1986) and "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" (1988). Her work was praised for its meticulous research, compelling storytelling, and strong female characters.
