About Brian Freeman

Brian Freeman is an American author of mystery and thriller novels. Born in 1963 in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was a journalist before turning to writing fiction. Freeman is known for his Lucas Davenport series, featuring a profiler working for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The first novel in the series, "Immoral Proposition," was published in 2004 and became a New York Times bestseller. Freeman has since written over 20 novels in the series, which has been praised for its fast-paced action, complex characters, and intricate plots. Brian Freeman's Jonathan Stride novels are atmospheric American thrillers set in the cold, lake-bound city of Duluth, Minnesota. Lieutenant Jonathan Stride is a dogged, intuitive homicide detective whose cases are shadowed by personal loss, and whose investigations probe the secrets buried beneath a tight northern community.
