Alan Bradley (born 1938) is a Canadian author known for his Flavia de Luce mystery series. Growing up in a small town in northern Ontario, he developed a fascination with the Victorian era. After a career in journalism and advertising, Bradley turned to writing, publishing his first Flavia de Luce novel, "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie", in 2007. The series follows the adventures of Flavia de Luce, an 11-year-old chemist and amateur detective living in 1950s England.
