L.A. Banks (born LaToya Ashante Banks) is an American urban fantasy author. Born in West Baltimore, Maryland, she showed an early passion for writing. However, it was only after earning a degree in psychology and working in corporate America for over a decade that she began writing professionally. Banks is the creator of two successful fantasy series: the "Vampire Huntress Legend" and the "Crimson Moon" series.
