Michael Grant (born 1955) is an American author and historian specializing in ancient Greek and Roman history. Grant was born in London, England, and studied at Cambridge University before relocating to the United States in 1986. He is a professor of classics and history at the University of California, Berkeley. Grant has written over 30 books on ancient history, including "The History of Rome" (1994) and "The Greek Way" (1965). For his contributions to scholarship, Grant has received the National Humanities Medal, the Gold Medal of the Archaeological Institute of America, and the Kenyon Medal for Classical Studies.
