About John Connolly
John Connolly (born 31 May 1968) is an Irish crime fiction author and journalist. He is best known for his series of novels featuring private investigator Charlie Parker, which have been praised for their atmospheric prose and complex characters. Connolly was born in Dublin, Ireland, and grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied English literature at Queen's University Belfast and worked as a journalist for the Irish Times before becoming a full-time writer. Connolly's first novel, Every Dead Thing, was published in 1999. It won the Shamus Award for Best First Novel and was nominated for the Edgar Award for Best Novel. Connolly has since published over 20 novels, including The Killing Kind (2001), The White Road (2002), and The Reapers (2005). Connolly's novels have been translated into over 30 languages and have sold over 7 million copies worldwide.
