**Philippa Gregory (born January 9, 1954)** is a British historical novelist best known for her bestselling "Tudor Court" series. Gregory holds a PhD in English literature from the University of Edinburgh. After teaching at Open University, she turned to writing full-time in the 1990s. Her debut novel, "Wideacre," won the Romantic Novelists' Association Romantic Novel of the Year Award in 1996. Gregory has since published over 30 historical novels, including "The Other Boleyn Girl" (2001), "The Boleyn Inheritance" (2006), and "The White Queen" (2009). Her books have sold over 15 million copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 40 languages. Gregory has received numerous accolades, including the British Book Awards Historical Fiction Award in 2002 and 2005, and the Galaxy British Book Awards Author of the Year in 2008. Her work has also been adapted into several television series, including "The White Queen" and "The Spanish Princess."
