Dana Stabenow (born 1952) is an American author best known for her mystery novels set in Alaska. Stabenow began writing in 1989 and has since published over 30 novels, including the Kate Shugak series and the Liam Campbell series. Her books have won numerous awards, including the Edgar Award, the Anthony Award, and the Macavity Award. Stabenow's work is praised for its strong characters, intricate plots, and evocative descriptions of the Alaskan landscape. She has been credited with popularizing Alaska as a setting for mystery fiction. Stabenow holds a degree in journalism from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She lives in Juneau, Alaska, with her husband.
