The book received wide acclaim, including the National Book Award for Young People's Literature in 2017. Other notable works by Gratz include "Projekt 1065," about a group of teenagers who time-travel to Nazi Germany; "Allies," which explores the experiences of soldiers from different sides of the Battle of Gettysburg; and "Ground Zero," which follows a family in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
