Tim Tigner, born in 1953, is an American author and editor. After graduating from Stanford University in 1974, he worked as a newspaper reporter in California and New Jersey before joining The Oregonian in 1990. Tigner's work focuses on environmental issues. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing in 1996 for his series on the Pacific Northwest logging industry. He also co-authored "Clear-Cutting: Deforestation and the Tragedy of the Commons" with Bill Moyers. Tigner later became The Oregonian's environmental editor, where he led the newsroom to win three George Polk Awards. After the newspaper's closure in 2019, he joined the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, where he continues to write about environmental and science policy.
