Susan Meissner is an award-winning American author known for her historical fiction novels. Born in 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri, she earned degrees in English and journalism from the University of Missouri. Meissner's breakthrough novel, "The Shape of Mercy," was released in 2006 and became a New York Times bestseller. She has since authored over a dozen novels that explore themes of love, redemption, and the power of the human spirit. Among her notable works are "The Last Year of the War" (2019), "The Nature of Fragile Things" (2017), and "The Book of Bright and Bitter" (2015).
