C. S. Harris, born Carol Stubbs in 1933, is an English author best known for her historical mystery novels. A self-taught historian, she began writing in her 40s, drawing inspiration from her extensive research on medieval England. Harris's acclaimed Seymour and Fitzwilliam mystery series features the detective duo of aristocratic investigator Lord Francis Powerscourt de Courtenay and cynical Scotland Yard inspector Charles Arnold Fitzwilliam.
