About M C Beaton
M.C. Beaton (1936-2022) was the pseudonym of Marion Chesney, a prolific British author best known for her cozy mystery and historical fiction series. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she began writing in her 50s as a way to fund her travels. Beaton's most famous series is the Hamish Macbeth mysteries, featuring a Scottish police constable in a remote village. These books became international bestsellers and were adapted into a popular BBC television series.
