David Weber, born in 1952, is an American science fiction and fantasy author known for his military science fiction series. Weber began writing in his teens and sold his first story at age 19. In 1985, he published his first novel "Mutineers' Moon," which introduced his popular Honor Harrington series. The series, set in a future where interstellar trade and warfare are commonplace, has sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Other notable works include the Dahak saga, the Safehold series, and co-authoring the Starfire series with Steve White. Weber has received numerous awards, including the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 1989 and the Prometheus Award for Best Novel in 1990. His works have been praised for their detailed worldbuilding, compelling characters, and exciting action sequences.
