About the Author
Ryk Brown (born 1990) is an Australian author, editor, and podcaster. Brown identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. Their debut novel, _Puppet Show_, was published in 2015 and received critical acclaim. It won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript, the Aurealis Award for Best Horror Novel, and the Norma K Hemming Award for Speculative Fiction. Brown has since published two more novels, _The Extinction Trials_ (2018) and _All That's Left in the World_ (2023). They have also edited the anthologies _Black Cranes: Tales of Unquiet Women_ (2021) and _Luminous Bodies: An Anthology of Bodies & Beyond_ (2023). In addition to their writing, Brown is a member of the podcasting collective, the Writing Bloc. They have also taught creative writing at the University of Technology Sydney.
