Nicholas Sparks

Nicholas Charles Sparks (born December 31, 1965) is an American author, screenwriter, and philanthropist. He has written over 20 novels, several of which have been adapted into major motion pictures, including "The Notebook", "A Walk to Remember", and "Dear John". Sparks was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He studied business finance at the University of Notre Dame, but left before graduating to pursue a career in writing. He published his first novel, "The Notebook", in 1996, which became a bestseller and was adapted into a film in 2004. Sparks' novels are known for their romantic themes and emotional storylines. He has sold over 100 million copies of his books worldwide, which have been translated into over 50 languages. He has received numerous awards, including the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Romance Novel for "The Lucky One" (2012) and the RT Booklovers Award for Best Contemporary Romance Novel for "The Choice" (2016).
