About the Author
James R. Benn is an American author of historical thrillers set in the World War II era. Born in 1963, Benn graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1985 and served as an officer in the US Army for eight years. Benn's first Billy Boyle novel, "Billy Boyle," was published in 2004 and introduced the character of Billy Boyle, a detective with the New York Police Department who is sent to London to investigate a murder during World War II. The book was met with critical acclaim and has been followed by 15 additional novels in the series. Benn's Billy Boyle novels have been praised for their historical accuracy, vivid characters, and suspenseful plots. They have been translated into more than 20 languages and have won numerous awards, including the Barry Award for Best Paperback Original in 2007 and the Strand Critics Award for Best Historical Novel in 2014.
