Dave Eggers (born March 12, 1970) is an American author, editor, and publisher. He is known for his novels, including "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" (2000), "What Is the What" (2006), and "The Circle" (2013). Eggers's writing often explores themes of love, loss, and the search for meaning in a complex world. He is also a vocal advocate for social justice and environmentalism. Eggers has received numerous awards for his work, including the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the MacArthur Fellowship. His novels have been translated into more than 30 languages and have been adapted into several films. Eggers is also the founder of McSweeney's, a literary journal and publishing company. He is a co-founder of the 826 Valencia writing center, which provides free writing workshops to students in under-resourced communities.
