Chuck Palahniuk (born February 21, 1962) is an American author known for his transgressive fiction. After working as a freelance journalist, Palahniuk wrote his first novel, "Fight Club" (1996), which became a cult classic, adapted into a film in 1999. Palahniuk's other notable works include "Invisible Monsters" (1999), "Survivor" (2004), and "Choke" (2001). He has won multiple literary awards, including the Oregon Book Award, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award, and the Pushcart Prize. Palahniuk's work is critically acclaimed for its dark humor, exploration of controversial themes, and unique literary style. His novels often feature themes of violence, consumerism, and the search for meaning in a fragmented society.
