Alex Kava is an American crime fiction author known for her thrillers featuring FBI profiler Maggie O'Dell. Born in Chicago, she attended Western Michigan University and worked as a journalist before pursuing writing full-time. Kava's breakthrough came with her debut novel "A Perfect Evil" (1998), which introduced Maggie O'Dell and quickly became a bestseller. She has since written over 20 novels, many of which have been translated into multiple languages. Notable works include the "Maggie O'Dell" series, the "Ryder Creed" series, and stand-alones like "The Soul Catcher" (2002), which won the Daphne du Maurier Award.
