Tom Wood

Tom Wood is a contemporary British author, born in 1971, most known for his writing within the crime fiction genre. He spent his early life in the West Midlands before studying Modern Languages at the University of Bath. His debut novel, "The Killer Inside", published in 2006, marks the first appearance of the protagonist Detective Sergeant Harry Quinn, a character who features in numerous subsequent novels by Wood. Throughout his career, Tom Wood has received critical acclaim for his writing. His 2009 novel, "The Bone Collector", won the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year. Wood has also garnered recognition from the Crime Writers' Association, with "The Final Hour" receiving an honor commendation for the CWA Gold Dagger in 2016 and "The Missing" being shortlisted for the same award in 2020. To date, Wood has written over twenty novels. He has been described as a "master of the police procedural" and praised for the depth and complexity of his narratives, which explore themes of morality, guilt, and redemption. His international success has led to books being translated into more than twenty languages.
