Tasha Alexander is a New York Times bestselling author of historical mysteries. Born in Ames, Iowa, she earned a degree in History from Wesleyan University and an MBA from New York University. Known for her Lady Emily historical mysteries, the series is set in Victorian England and follows the adventures of Lady Emily Hargreaves, a widow and amateur detective. The first book in the series, "And Only to Deceive," was published in 2005 and has been praised for its well-developed characters, intricate plots, and evocative historical settings. The series has been translated into more than 20 languages and has won numerous awards, including the Agatha Award for Best First Novel, the Mary Higgins Clark Award, and the Macavity Award. In addition to her historical mysteries, Alexander has published several standalone novels, including the bestselling "A Royal Christmas Kiss." She has also worked as a journalist, editor, and marketing executive.
