Tamora Pierce

Tamora Pierce (born December 13, 1954) is an American fantasy author known for her Song of the Lioness, Protector of the Small, and Trickster series of novels. Born in New York, Pierce began writing fantasy as a teenager and published her first novel at the age of 21. She studied writing at the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a technical writer before becoming a full-time author. Pierce's books have been widely praised for their strong female characters, diverse casts, and immersive worldbuilding. She has won numerous literary awards, including the Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy four times. Her notable works include: - Song of the Lioness Quartet (1983-1988) - Protector of the Small Quartet (1989-1994) - The Trickster Trilogy (2003-2005) - Circle of Magic Quartet (1997-2007) Pierce has also written several standalone novels and short stories.
