About

Stieg Larsson

Stieg Larsson (1954-2004) was a Swedish journalist and writer notable for his Millennium series, a trilogy of crime novels. His interest in writing began at a young age. After being a political activist and journalist, he published his first novel, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," in 2005. The book was praised for its complex characters and its timely socio-political themes. The following two books in the trilogy, "The Girl Who Played with Fire" (2006) and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest" (2007), were equally successful. Larsson's books have been translated into more than 50 languages and have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. They have also been adapted into several films and television series. Larsson died in 2004 from a heart attack, leaving behind an unfinished fourth novel in the Millennium series, which was completed by another author and published in 2015.
