Simon Kernick

Simon Kernick (born 1966) is a British author of crime thrillers. Born in Slough, England, he worked as an accountant before turning to writing full-time in 1998. Kernick's breakthrough novel, "The Business of Dying," was published in 2002 and introduced Detective Inspector Dennis Milne. Milne has since featured in several successful sequels, including "Deadline" (2004) and "In the Heat of the Night" (2018). Kernick has written over 20 novels, including standalone thrillers like "Ultimatum" (2010) and "The Hunted" (2014). His work has been translated into over 20 languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. Kernick has received several awards for his writing, including the Crime Writers' Association Dagger in the Library Award in 2008 and the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award in 2010. His novels have been praised for their fast-paced plots, gripping suspense, and memorable characters.
