Sarah R Shaber

Sarah R. Shaber is an American science fiction author. She is the daughter of Antarctic historian Kenneth John Bertrand Shaber and oceanographer Ruth Shaber. Shaber graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983 and the Clarion Workshop in 1985. Her short fiction has been published in Asimov's Science Fiction, Fantasy & Science Fiction, and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. Her first novel, Spaceborne, was published in 1988 and was nominated for the Nebula Award for Best Novel. Her second novel, The People of the Moon, was published in 1991 and was nominated for the James Tiptree, Jr. Award. She has been a writer at the Writers Guild of America West and is also a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
