S J Watson is an English author best known for his debut novel, "Before I Go to Sleep." Born in 1971 in Birmingham, UK, Watson worked as an auditor before transitioning to writing full-time. His breakout novel, "Before I Go to Sleep," was published in 2011 and became a bestseller, selling over 4 million copies worldwide. It was adapted into a 2014 film starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth. Watson's subsequent novels include "The Second Life of Amy Byler" (2013), "Final Cut" (2016), "Home Before Dark" (2018), and "The Bell Keeper" (2021). His books have been translated into over 40 languages and have garnered critical acclaim for their suspenseful plots and psychological depth. Watson was awarded the Crime Writers' Association (CWA) Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award for Best Thriller in 2011 for "Before I Go to Sleep."
