Richard Marcinko

Richard Marcinko (November 21, 1940 – December 25, 2021) was a retired United States Navy SEAL officer who founded the SEAL Team Six counter-terrorism unit. He served in the Vietnam War, where he earned the Navy Cross, Silver Star, and Bronze Star Medal. After the war, he was involved in the Iranian hostage rescue attempt and the Grenada invasion. Marcinko was a controversial figure, and his methods were often criticized. However, he was also a highly respected and decorated officer. He wrote several books about his experiences, including "Rogue Warrior" and "SEAL Team Six." Marcinko died on December 25, 2021, at the age of 81. He was survived by his wife, Robyn, and four children.
