Pierce Brown is an American science fiction and fantasy author. Born in 1988, he studied political science and economics at Pepperdine University before pursuing a career in writing. Brown's debut novel, "Red Rising," was published in 2014 and became an instant bestseller. The book is the first in a trilogy set in a dystopian society where the population is divided into color-coded castes. "Red Rising" has been praised for its fast-paced action, well-developed characters, and compelling social commentary. Brown has since published two sequels to "Red Rising," "Golden Son" and "Morning Star," as well as a prequel novel, "Iron Gold."
