Peter May

Peter May (born 20 December 1951) is a Scottish crime writer and journalist. Born in Glasgow, May began his career as a journalist and editor, working for several newspapers and magazines before becoming a full-time writer in 2000. May is best known for his Lewis Trilogy (2006-2008), featuring Detective Inspector Fin Macleod. His other notable works include "The Blackhouse" (2011), "Coffin Road" (2016), and "The Night Fire" (2020). May has received numerous awards for his writing, including the CWA Dagger in the Library (2012) and the Theakston's Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award (2013). His books have been translated into over 30 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. May's writing style is characterized by its atmospheric settings, complex characters, and intricate plots. His books often explore themes of crime, guilt, and redemption, and have received critical acclaim for their psychological depth and evocative prose.
