Paul Doiron is an American crime writer. A native of Maine, he worked as a reporter before turning to writing fiction. Doiron is best known for his Mike Bowditch crime series, set in the wilderness of Maine. His debut novel, "The Poacher's Son," won the Barry Award for Best First Novel and was nominated for an Edgar Award. Subsequent novels in the series have also received critical acclaim, with "Widowmaker" winning the Maine Literary Award for Fiction in 2018. Doiron's work has been praised for its atmospheric suspense, well-developed characters, and its portrayal of the natural world. His books have been translated into multiple languages and have sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
