Patrick Robinson

Patrick Robinson (born 1951) is a British-born, Canadian author of children's and young adult literature. Born in London, Robinson moved with his family to Canada when he was two. He has worked as a teacher, librarian, and editor. He began writing in the 1980s, and his first novel, "Return to the Planet of the Apes" (1984) won the Seal First Novel Award. Robinson has written over 40 books, including the "Children of the Wind" series, the "Flash Fire" trilogy, and the "Eagle Strike" series. His books have been translated into over 15 languages and have sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Robinson has received numerous awards for his work, including the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year Award (1998), the Ruth Schwartz Children's Book Award (1998), and the Governor General's Literary Award (2000). His books have been praised for their vivid storytelling, strong characters, and timely themes about environmentalism and social justice.
