Michael McGarrity

Michael McGarrity (born 1953) is an American author known for his crime fiction novels set in the American Southwest, primarily in New Mexico. Growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, McGarrity moved to New Mexico in 1978. His series featuring Navajo detective Kevin Kerney has won numerous awards, including the Spur Award from the Western Writers of America and the Shamus Award from the Private Eye Writers of America. Other notable works include the Ross Dolan and Joe Bonham series, which explore themes of family, justice, and the complexities of the human condition. McGarrity's writing has been critically acclaimed for its authenticity, vivid sense of place, and compelling characters.
