M. J. Arlidge is a British author known for his crime fiction novels. Born in Essex, England, he worked as a journalist before turning to writing full-time. Arlidge's debut novel, "Eeny Meeny," was published in 2014 and introduced Detective Inspector Helen Grace. The series has since become a bestseller, with over 10 million copies sold worldwide. Arlidge has won several awards for his work, including the Crime Writers' Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award for Best Thriller in 2018 for "Down to the Woods." His novels have been praised for their gripping plots, well-developed characters, and social commentary. Arlidge continues to release new installments in the Helen Grace series, with the latest being "The Last Call" in 2023.
