Louise Rennison

Louise Rennison (1951-2018) was a beloved British children's and young adult author. Born in Leeds, Yorkshire, she began writing as a teenager and published her first novel, "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging," in 1999. Rennison's humorous and relatable novels, narrated by the teenage character Georgia Nicholson, became instant bestsellers. The "Angus, Thongs" trilogy sold over 3 million copies and was translated into 30 languages. Rennison received numerous awards, including the Children's Book of the Year at the British Book Awards and the Blue Peter Book Award. Her work was praised for its honest depictions of teenage life, its celebration of individuality, and its hilarious and heartwarming storytelling.
