Liza Marklund

Liza Marklund (born September 9, 1962) is a Swedish journalist and crime writer. She gained recognition with her series featuring detective Annika Bengtzon. Marklund began her career as a journalist, working for newspapers and magazines in Sweden. In 1995, she published her first novel, "Sprängaren" (The Bomber), featuring Annika Bengtzon. The book became a bestseller in Sweden and launched her writing career. She has since written numerous crime novels, many of which have been translated into English and other languages. Her books explore social issues such as violence against women, corruption, and terrorism. Marklund has won several awards for her work, including the Swedish Crime Writers' Academy Best Swedish Crime Novel Award in 1998 and 2002. Her books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been praised for their gripping plots and strong female characters.
