Lindsey Davis

Lindsey Davis (born 1949) is an English author best known for her historical crime novels set in ancient Rome. Davis began writing after a career as a civil servant. Her debut novel, **The Silver Pigs**, introduced the character of Marcus Didius Falco, a Roman informer in the reign of Vespasian. The Falco series has become highly successful, with over 20 novels published and translated into multiple languages. Davis's novels are praised for their vivid historical detail, engaging characters, and suspenseful plots. She has received numerous awards, including the Crime Writers' Association Historical Dagger Award four times. Her work has been critically acclaimed, with reviewers praising her ability to bring ancient Rome to life.
