Karen M. McManus is an American author known for her young adult mystery novels. Born in 1989, she graduated from Boston College and worked as an editor before pursuing writing full-time. McManus rose to fame with her debut novel, "One of Us Is Lying" (2017), which became a New York Times bestseller and inspired a television series. The novel follows a group of high school students as they try to solve the murder of one of their classmates. McManus has since written several other young adult thrillers, including "Two Can Keep a Secret" (2019), "The Cousins" (2020), and "You'll Be the Death of Me" (2021). Her books have sold over 5 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 30 languages. In 2018, McManus won the Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel for "One of Us Is Lying." Her work has been praised for its suspenseful plots, relatable characters, and twisty endings.
