Julie McElwain
Julie McElwain is a Canadian writer and editor. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, and attended the University of Toronto, where she studied English and history. She worked as an editor at several Canadian magazines before publishing her first novel, "The Cartographer's Daughter," in 2003. McElwain's work has been praised for its lyrical prose and its exploration of complex human relationships. She has been nominated for several awards, including the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Governor General's Award for Fiction. Her novel "The Summer of the Second Chances" (2007) won the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize.
