Jilly Cooper (born February 21, 1944) is a British author known for her best-selling comedic and romantic novels. Born in London, Cooper began her writing career as a columnist for the Evening Standard. Her debut novel, "Embers," was published in 1979 and became an instant success. Over the years, she has written numerous novels, including the bestselling "Riders" series, "The Polperran Saga," and "The Wicked Series." Cooper's books have been praised for their witty and entertaining writing style, and have sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
