Jefferson Bass

Jefferson Bass is the pen name of forensic anthropologist Jon Jefferson. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1956, he initially pursued a career in medicine, graduating from Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. However, his interest in forensic anthropology grew during his medical residency, and he eventually transitioned to that field. As Jefferson Bass, he has explored the intersection of science, history, and crime in over 20 popular novels, including the Body Farm series and the Bill Brockton series. His works have been translated into 30 languages and have sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Bass has received numerous awards for his writing, including the Anthony Award for Best First Mystery (1996) and the Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime (2001, 2014). His books have been praised for their authenticity, gripping narratives, and insights into the forensic field.
