Jean Flowers

Jean Flowers (1934-2016) was an American author and educator known for her work in children's and young adult literature. Born in Pennsylvania, she began writing after raising her five children. Flowers' debut novel, "The Great Chocolate Moose Mystery," was published in 1993 and became an instant classic. It follows the adventures of two cousins who solve mysteries in a small town. She went on to write over 30 books in the mystery and adventure genres. Flowers received numerous awards for her work, including the Edgar Award for Best Juvenile Mystery in 2007 for "The Case of the Missing Carrot Cake." Her books were critically acclaimed for their humor, suspense, and realistic characters. Flowers' writing inspired countless young readers and her books continue to be enjoyed by children and adults alike. She passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of beloved works.
