Jane Austen

Jane Austen (1775-1817) was an English novelist known for her witty and insightful comedies of manners. Born into a wealthy family, Austen received a limited education but spent much of her life reading and writing. Her most famous works include "Pride and Prejudice" (1813), "Sense and Sensibility" (1811), and "Mansfield Park" (1814). Austen's novels are praised for their realistic characters, sharp social commentary, and subtle use of irony. While Austen's novels were not widely known during her lifetime, they gained critical and commercial success posthumously. "Pride and Prejudice" is consistently ranked among the greatest novels in the English language. Austen's works have been translated into over 30 languages and have been the basis for numerous film and television adaptations. She is widely considered one of the most influential and beloved writers of all time.
