James P. Hogan

James Patrick Hogan (1943-2010) was an Irish-born science fiction writer. Born in London, he moved to the United States in 1962. His first novel, "Inherit the Stars," was published in 1977 and was the start of a series of interconnected novels. Hogan's other notable works include "The Proteus Operation" and "Giants in the Earth." He was known for his realistic and scientifically accurate depictions of space exploration and extraterrestrial life. Hogan received the British Science Fiction Award for Best Novel in 1980 and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award in 1982. His works have been praised for their exploration of scientific and social issues and their engaging storytelling.
