Helen H. Durrant

Helen H. Durrant (1875-1947) was an American writer and journalist. She is best known for her mystery/detective novels. Born in San Francisco, Durrant published her first novel "The House on the Marsh" in 1923. She went on to write 14 novels in total that mainly featured detective Ross Macleod. Durrant's last novel, "Pennywise", was published in 1938. Despite her prolificacy, Durrant's works remain largely unknown today. She did, however, receive some recognition during her lifetime. In 1929, Durrant was awarded the Drury Lane Mystery Prize for her novel "The Three Who Watched".
